2: Scientific cooperation and researcher mobility

Well aware of the international dimension involved in research, the university gives high priority to integrating its faculty within the international scientific community, and to extending its research to international problematics. Its aim is to strengthen institutional partnerships with the best research teams, while encouraging joint initiatives through hosting incoming researchers, providing excellent facilities to the researchers during their stay and developing co-directed thesis programmes. It is anxious to answer European and international calls for tender, and is also aiming for greater cohesion with the strategies of major research organisations.

As part of its interuniversity cooperation agreements regarding supervision policies, Université Lille 1 is particularly keen to develop co-direction of thesis, greater administrative and logistics facilities for visiting professors and to foster an international atmosphere on its campus through the organisation of seminars and meetings. Université Lille 1 is a member of the European ‘Researchers Mobility Portal’.
