Hosting protocols: Procedures for foreign researchers and post-doctoral
students to enter and stay in France
Reception protocol: a single
document to facilitate admission to France and the right to
stay as a ‘scientist’.
This simplifies the procedures necessary for foreign researchers
and post-doctoral students to enter and stay in France, facilitating
the delivery of visas and preparing a special ‘scientist’s’ temporary
residence permit.
To obtain this ''protocole d'accueil'', please contact the International Center.
These measures apply to foreign researchers or post-doctoral
students from outside the European Union (or countries which
have signed the European Economic Area Agreement) who will be
hosted by a French higher education institution or public research
organization.
As soon as the stay in France is confirmed
by the host institution (project, period(s) of stay, funding
etc), a reception protocol
must be sent to the visiting researcher prior to his or her arrival
to enable a ‘scientist’ visa to be issued.
For further information about the hosting
of foreign researchers in France, please consult the Alfred
Kastler Foundation or the web site of the Pôle Universitaire Européen Lille Nord Pas de Calais Mobility Centre.
