Student mobility programmes organised by the Agence Universitaire
de la Francophonie
The aim of the Agence Universitaire de la Francophonie
(AUF) is to develop solidarity and exchange between universities
official language of instruction is French.
AUF mobility programmes are mainly designed for lower
income and less prestigious institutions- especially those of the Southern Hemisphere. This program can arrange exchanges between one another or with universities
from the North. However, grants cannot be awarded for mobility between
two institutions from the North.
Additionally, women students are given priority
over men in the case of two applications of equal merit.
Research training scholarships:
- Intended for those students with a postgraduate degree (DEA or equivalent).
These scholarships cover the period necessary to prepare
the thesis (3 years maximum). Priority is given to co-supervised
or co-directed theses.
The scholarships awarded include:
- transport costs
- a monthly payment calculated according to the cost of
living in the host region
- a lump sum paid at the beginning of the mobility stay
to cover settling in costs
- cover for health insurance, accident cover or repatriation
costs which are obligatory in the host country.
- in the case of scholarships awarded for research training,
an assignment from one of the thesis directors in the
partner institution following in
response to a letter of motivation addressed to the AUF.
The three scholarships are awarded following
